About Claire
I’m Claire Mitra, and my work sits at the meeting place of rest, nervous-system support, and contemplative practice. I have been teaching since 2011, and over fifteen years of teaching and devotional practice have gently shaped the way I hold space – slow, honest, compassionate, and deeply human.
I walk the householder path and am a mother of three beautiful children; this lived reality continually roots my practice in the ordinary sacredness of daily life – love, responsibility, tenderness, and endurance. I am also currently studying with a Vedic teacher, a relationship that deepens my understanding of reverence, rhythm, and inner steadiness.
My work is held in a devotional relationship with the heart – a quiet returning, again and again, to what is tender, truthful, and alive within. I don’t teach fast-paced or performance-based yoga. Instead, my approach is slow, gentle, and quietly devotional, centred on creating calm, spacious environments where people can soften, feel safe, and come back to themselves.
My approach is grounded, contemplative, and devotional. I hold space with sensitivity and care, allowing people to arrive exactly as they are. Many describe these sessions as a rare opportunity to exhale – a gentle returning from chaos into clarity, steadiness, and a deep sense of being held and cared for.
In my sessions, we move slowly, rest deeply, and allow the nervous system to settle – not as a luxury, but as a necessary act of care. Pillows, blankets, breath, and gentle attunement become sacred supports. Nothing is rushed. Nothing is forced. The practice meets you where you are.
This work is for those who feel tired, tender, in transition, or simply longing for a softer way of being in their body and life.
It is an invitation to return.
Rest as devotion to the heart.
